IKEA vs Apple Infographic

IKEA versus Apple – Comparing Two of Today’s Most Successful Companies!

I personally love both these companies. We have several pieces of IKEA furniture in the office and at home – and I’m an avid Apple fan, having converted from PCs long, long ago (not to mention that I couldn’t live without my MacBook or iPhone). So, when I came across this awesome IKEA vs Apple infographic, I just had to share it!

Apple – Steve Jobs worked during the summers, spending one summer in an apple orchard; he was so happy there that he later named his first legitimate business “Apple.”
1926 – Ingvar Kamprad was born in the south of Sweden and raised on a farm called Elmtaryd, near the small village of Agunnaryd.
1955 – Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, California to an American mother and a Syrian father – Joanne Carole Schieble and Abdulfattah John Jandall, a graduate student who later became a political science professor. One week after his birth, Jobs was put up for adoption by his unmarried mother. He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs of Mountain View, Santa Clara County, California.
1985 – The first IKEA store opens in the USA.
1985 – Jobs was stripped of his duties at Apple following an internal power struggle. After leaving Apple, Jobs founded another computer company, NeXT Computer (NeXT was eventually bought out by Apple to the tune of $402 million and Steve was soon returned to CEO of Apple).
